Ahead of the Monday and Tuesday Salah celebration, the Police in Imo have deployed the anti-bomb department and all heads of the tactical units of the command to mosques, banks and recreation centres in the state to ensure a hitch-free celebration in the state.

The state commissioner of police, Chris Ezike, in an interview on Friday, said that the measure was taken to ensure that troubleshooters do not take advantage of the celebration to cause mayhem in the state.

“There is massive deployments of policemen into the field ahead of the Salah celebration. The Anti-bomb department and head of all tactical units of command have been deployed to all the major and minor mosques, banks, recreation parts and all places of public concerns in the state.

“There was a mini rehearsal during our management meeting this morning (Friday). We are prepared and ready to secure the state. The answer is visibility policing and we have deployed our men to all Automated Teller Machine points and all places there would huge human and vehicle movements.

Imo is a no go area for trouble makers. We are not alone, we are collaborating with all the security Agencies to ensure that Imo witnesses a high free Salah celebration,” The CP explained.

The Police boss added that Nigeria is one and every tribe must work for the unity of the country.

He said, “Police are aware that there is apprehension, not only in South East but in Nigeria because of the quit notice and the responses, but we must be our brothers’ keepers. Our Muslim brothers are safe and secured in Imo State. As policemen, we will protect them and secure that they enjoy the celebration,” Ezike added.

Touching story: How I Survived Ebola ~ Dr Ada Igono

The male doctor on call admitted him as a case of malaria and took a full history. Knowing that Mr Sawyer had recently arrived from Liberia, the doctor asked if  he had been in contact with an Ebola patient in the last couple of weeks, and Mr. Sawyer denied any such contact. He also denied attending any funeral ceremony recently. Blood samples were taken for full blood count, malaria parasites, liver function test and other baseline investigations. He was admitted into a private room and started on antimalarial drugs and analgesics. That night, the full blood count result came back as normal and not indicative of infection. The following day however, his condition worsened. He barely ate any of his meals. His liver function test result showed his liver enzymes were markedly elevated. We the...
