NNL: ABS FC Flogs Gateway FC 4-1 In Replay Match

Gateway FC of Abeokuta on Wednesday in Ilorin, Kwara State suffered 4-1 defeat to hosting Abubakar Bukola Saraki Ilorin FC  for the Nigeria National League day 14.
The defeated team had been worked over on October 31 after they refused to show up in Ilorin for the match.
After the mandatory 30 minutes wait at the Kwara Stadium Complex, venue of the match, centre referee Hamza Garba from Kano State sounded his whistle to confirm a walkover for the Ilorin-based side.
Walkover rules stipulate that the team whose players were on the pitch for the entire 30 minutes before the centre referee sounded his whistle (ABS Ilorin FC), gets three points.
ABS Coach, Henry Makinwa, told newsmen after the game that the outcome of the match was a dream come true for him.
Makinwa said: “I’m delighted we won the game as stipulated by the rules. I don’t know why they (Gateway United FC) refused to play.
“They were right there in the stadium but what the justifiable reason was for not playing is beyond me and beyond reasoning.
“If security is their reason, I think they got it wrong. There were enough policemen present, about 50 to 60 of them; so, why should they not play?
“At worst, they could have played under protest; as it is right now, I can say congratulations to my team for making it possible for us to get promoted into the Nigeria Professional Football League.”
However, the Nigerian Football Federation(NFF) has fined Gateway Football Club N1 million for breach of rules governing the Nigerian National League(NNL) and ordered a replay.
The match took placed behind closed door at Kwara Stadium on Wednesday where Saraki Boys flogged Gateway Face goals to one.

Touching story: How I Survived Ebola ~ Dr Ada Igono

On the night of Sunday July 20, 2014, Patrick Sawyer was wheeled into the Emergency Room at First Consultants Medical Centre, Obalende, Lagos, with complaints of fever and body weakness. The male doctor on call admitted him as a case of malaria and took a full history. Knowing that Mr Sawyer had recently arrived from Liberia, the doctor asked if  he had been in contact with an Ebola patient in the last couple of weeks, and Mr. Sawyer denied any such contact. He also denied attending any funeral ceremony recently. Blood samples were taken for full blood count, malaria parasites, liver function test and other baseline investigations. He was admitted into a private room and started on antimalarial drugs and analgesics. That night, the full blood count result came back as normal and not indicative of infection. The following day however, his condition worsened. He barely ate any of his meals. His liver function test result showed his liver enzymes were markedly elevated. We the...
