Blogging is easy, these days with the free platform any one can sign up and blog. But, there lies a huge obstacle, how to drive traffic to your blog? Anyone can become a writer, but not everyone’s work will be noticed. This is where SEO lies and this is how you drive traffic to your blog.

1. On Page optimization: Above all other techniques, this has to be the major factor to drive traffic to your blog. You should be able to optimize the title tag, Meta descriptions, images, keywords, content, responsiveness, site map creations and webmaster of your blog properly. These are the first thing any search engine looks at your blog to crawl and get noticed on web.
2. Content: There are lots of niche you can choose to blog. You should be very strong on your content, to make your readers stay. Make the best qualitative content on your blog. Have above 300-500 words on your post. More the content, more your site is considered valuable. Short articles are often misunderstood as spam.
3. Social Signals: These days being on social sites has been a necessity. Share your valuable contents from social sites to the globe, the chances of your web getting visited are very high plus people can share it with their friends too, here you get a chance to have the quality link juice pass.
4. Link Building: Have a quality links can bring a lot of traffic to your blog. Make sure, you are not doing a black hat link building. Only have links from your niche website.
5. Be active on forums: I have posted articles on .gov.eduprofile creations, being on forum earlier on my blog. You can get bunch of lists of website which you can be part of from the articles. Forums has many people from around the world who actively participates on discussions, be a part of the forums from your niche, this alone can bring you a valuable visitor to your blog and can have good conversion rates with less bouncing. You can also treat Facebook groups, LinkedIn groups and twitter as your forum. Be aware, Facebook group is often spam and stuff but you can participate in genuine conversation there, LinkedIn and twitter conversations can be more fruitful.
6. Article Submission: It is not always necessary to have link of your blog in an article. There are a lot of sites where you can submit articles and share it. You often have heard do article submission in different sites, and get traffic, it is actually true. But never post the same thing you post on your blog, don’t just copy paste it. Create original content and have your URL on the profile.
7. Directory Submission: Submit your site in free web submission website to get noticed on different search engines. Directories like Dmoz is quite popular for SEO. It take a lot of time to get listed there, but it is worth it. Give it a try and good luck. Till then try some free web submission sites.
8. Blog Comments: Many black hat spammers spam a lot with comments like “Nice blog”, “Good “, “Like it”, etc. comments with your blog URL. Mind you, never ever do that. When you comment on any blog from any social site make sure your profile has your URL and not necessarily keep your URL on other’s blog, until and unless someone is asking question and that URL is fruitful. That is white hat and genuine form of marketing. Don’t spoil your blog reputation on your own.
9. Guest Posting: Some says, Guest posting is dead. But not, if it is done right. Guest posting was once very popular but later it was given a title being a spam. People were unnecessarily doing it for the sake of link and traffic in any niche wherever they like, with high PR. That’s wrong. Never try and do that. Try and request your niche people for guest blogging very humbly and post an article, that’s the way you guest blog and make sure not to be a spammer. This is actually profitable for both the blog and the one who is guest posting. Traffic is shared by guest posting.
10. Email Marketing: If there is any king in off page optimization, it has to be email marketing. You are directly connected to the people. People has a choice of subscribing and unsubscribing your newsletters. You can send emails in a day, week or monthly reminding them about your services. Always include your blog URL and social sites URL on email, this will bring you genuine visitors who are there to stay and help in conversion rates.
11. Inbound and Outbound Links: Inbound links can bring a lot of traffic to your blog and also make a visitor stay on your site for long. Whereas, outbound will increase your website quality. Both are strong contenders for making a visitor last long in your webpage.

16. Submitting your Images and Infographs: It is not only your post, blog or video that will be on search engine list crawl list. If that was the case Google Images would never be there. Your images are also important equally, that is why I keep saying make your site visually appealing. Submit your images on sites like Flickr and so on for bringing more value to your site.
