Osinbajo, Gowon Preach Humility in Leadership for National Cohesion.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) and former military Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (rtd), as well as some serving governors have appealed to Nigerian leaders to always exhibit decorum and humility while presiding over the affairs of the people for national unity and cohesion. The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has said natural resources such and oil, gas and minerals, including talents, mean little without creativity and value addition. According to Vice President Osinbajo, it is value addition and creativity that is the difference between poverty and wealth. Buhari Inaugurates New Members Of NASS Service Commission

President Muhammadu Buhari has inaugurated Ahmed Kadi Amshi and 11 others as Chairman and commissioners of the National Assembly Service Commission. Engr Amshi and 11 commissioners took their oaths of office at the statehouse council chamber in Abuja which was presided over by President Buhari. The ceremony was witnessed by the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila. President Buhari had in December 2019, forwarded the names of the Chairman, Ahmed Kadi Amshi, and 11 commissioners to the National Assembly for confirmation. The National Assembly Service Commission is saddled with the responsibility of managing the workforce of the National Assembly. FG to establish automotive industrial park in Nnewi.

Anambra State government has donated land to the Federal Government for the establishment of an automotive industrial park in Nnewi, the second-biggest commercial town in the state. Nnewi, regarded as ‘Detroit of Nigeria’ is home to Innoson Motors, the first indigenous motor manufacturing firm in Nigeria, as well as a large number of small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) that are engaged in the manufacture of car and motorcycle spare parts. BREAKING: Court Finds Olisa Metuh Guilty Of Laundering N400m

The Federal High Court in Abuja has found Mr Olisa Metuh guilty of money laundering in the sum of N400 million. The trial judge, Justice Okon Abang, found the former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) guilty on Tuesday while delivering judgement in the suit instituted against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The anti-graft agency charged Metuh, who is standing trial alongside his company, Destra investment, with seven counts bordering on criminal diversion of the money received from the office of the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd). FG denies $100m to Kebbi Gov from Abacha loot.

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) has asked the Nigerian public to disregard the story that the federal government is to pay Kebbi State governor, Atiku Bagudu, $100m from the late Sani Abacha loot, describing the report as “unfounded and baseless.” In a statement over the weekend, Special Assistance on Media to the Minister, Umar Gwamdu, said the report is a fiction and figment of the imagination of the writer. According to an online portal, Premium Times, on Friday, Nigerian government is committed to a deal that would help Bagudu keep over $100m from funds stolen by Abacha. President Muhammadu Buhari says the issue of partial closure of Nigeria’s land border to goods from neighbouring countries will be determined by report of tripartite committee made up of Nigeria, Benin and Niger Republic. Lagos Airport ready, safe for international flights landing – FG

The Federal Government on Thursday announced that the two runways at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos have now been calibrated for CAT III ILS and safe for international flights landing. The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed who made the announcement at a media briefing in Abuja said the Notice to Airmen (NOTAP) had been sent out to that effect. He recalled that in recent times, some international flights billed for the airport were being diverted to other airports within and outside the country due to adverse weather conditions at the airport. The minister apologised to Nigerians and other travelers who had to endure inconveniences resulting from the diversion of their flights. He, however, denied allegations by some commentators that the navigational equipment CAT III ILS was not bought or installed in the Lagos airport and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
