The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate, Mr Godwin Obaseki has declared that he is own man as he dismissed insinuation that he is a puppet of incumbent governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomole noting that those who have lived off the state’s resources are the ones behind such claims. Obaseki, who spoke in an interview in Benin City, the Edo state capital, explained that his vision is to build on what the APC government has done in the state for the past eight years. The APC Governorship candidate explained that he was part of the main architects for the design of the current administration and that he has always had a voice in deciding the affairs of the state. Terrorist group Boko Haram have released a new video showing footage of the abducted school girls from Chibok. In the video released by the group and made available to freelance journalist Ahmad Salkida who published it to YouTube, many young girls are seen fully dressed in hijabs as the camera spans their faces. Also one of the girls was shown carrying a young child. The video which was recorded in Arabic and Hausa shows a Boko Haram commander with a gun strapped around his neck and a mask on his face addressing the parents of the girls and the Federal Government. The commander later brings one of the girls forward and the camera is focused on her as she speaks into the microphone he is holding. The All Progressives Congress Youth Forum (APYF), on Monday accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of abusing its powers under the law by sending its operatives to pick up one of the Forum’s founding members, Mr. Abubakar “Abusidiq” Sidiq Usman, on charges of cyberstalking. A statement released by the EFCC earlier on Monday claimed that Abusidiq was arrested and questioned on offences that allegedly contravened the Cyber Crime Act. But reacting through Olu Onemola, the National Public Relations Officer of the Forum, the APYF condemned the filing of spurious charges against Abusidiq, stating that if the EFCC’s actions was left unchecked, it could dent the institutional credibility of the financial watchdog and the perception of the adherence to the rule of law of the entire President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government. Bitcoin, a Florida judge says, is not real money. Ironically, that could provide a boost to use of the crypto-currency which has remained in the shadows of the financial system. The July 22 ruling by Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Teresa Pooler means that no specific license is needed to buy and sell bitcoins. The judge dismissed a case against Michel Espinoza, who had faced money laundering and other criminal charges for attempting to sell $1,500 worth of bitcoins to an undercover agent who told the defendant he was going to use the virtual money to buy stolen credit card numbers. Espinoza’s lawyer Rene Palomino said the judge acknowledged that it was not illegal to sell one’s property and ruled that this did not constitute running an unauthorized financial service. “He was selling his own personal bitcoins,” Palomino said. “This decision clears the way for you to do that in the state of the Florida without a money transmitting license.” In her ruling, Pooler said, “this court
